Dr. Sandy is a board-licensed physician of Family Medicine. She received her Doctorate of Medicine at The University of Toronto followed by a residency in Family Medicine with a focus in bariatric (obesity) medicine at the University of Toronto. Her undergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Medical Science in Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Sandy developed an interest in obesity prevention and management at an early stage of her career after finding that many of her clinical encounters with patients involved weight-related conditions that were preventable with lifestyle and nutrition optimization. With an avid interest in mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy, Dr. Sandy focuses much of her practice on determining root causes of weight gain and empowering patients with individualized plans for lifestyle skills that will improve weight control, healthy eating, active living and optimal prevention of chronic disease.
